Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Why is there the word "Demo" across my printouts?
A: Unregistered copies of Imagebuddy are fully functional, but the word "Demo" is drawn across all images until the software is registered. Registering gets rid of "Demo" and all other shareware reminders.
Q: Is there a version of Imagebuddy for computers running Microsoft Windows?
A: There is no Windows version of ImageBuddy at this time, the Mac version takes all my free time.
Q: Can I put Imagebuddy on the CD-ROM disk we are producing and distributing?
A: Please ask me first. If we agree that you are just distributing the software and not a shareware license (registration code) to use the software, I will nearly always say yes.
Q: Will you send me a free registration code in trade for <whatever>?
A: No
Q: How about sending me one so I can "review" Imagebuddy?
A: No
Q: How do I create my own Mask Files?
A: Mask files are just Grayscale TIFF files exported from Photoshop® or any image editing program, but you must select the Exclude Non-Image Data Button to write A pure TIFF file, compression is OK and recommended. Were the Mask file contains 100% Black the image will so thru without modification. Were the Mask file contains white is no image data will be seen and all values in between are faded. Once saved just copy the file into the Image Masks folder and restart ImageBuddy to have the file available.
Q: How do I create my own Overlay files?
A: They are just RGB 8bits per channel TIFF files exported from Photoshop®, or any image editing program, but you must select the Exclude Non-Image Data Button to write A pure TIFF file, compression is OK and recommended. Were the Overlay file contains pure white (i.e. RGB 255,255,255) the photo will show through in all other location the Overlay file will be shown. Once saved just copy the file into the Image Overlays folder and restart ImageBuddy to have the file available.
If you have created any nice overlay files or mask files please send them to me and I may include them in future release.
Q: What file types are supported by Imagebuddy?
A: ImageBuddy only supports the following image formats: TIFF, JPEG, PICT & JPEG 2000 with one or both of the following limitations. First the file must have a valid creator code of TIFF or JPEG, all Mac programs get this right, or must contain valid name extensions for it's type.
